American Legion Post 74 in Sebring will hold a clothing drive on August 10, from 9am to 2pm. They’re looking for clothes of all sizes, new or used, and school supplies for the upcoming school year for students who can’t afford it. Donations can be dropped off at the Post, located at 528 N Pine St. in Sebring. To find out more call Caitlin at 863-397-6477

August 17th, you can learn how to scuba dive and support the Sebring High School Swim & Dive program. The event will take place at the Sebring High School pool from 9am – 4pm. Sessions for 1-3 people will run every 20-30 minutes. To sign up go to Under Pressure Sports Travel on Facebook.

Thursday, August 22nd it’s BBQ time! Join the Sebring Historical Society for a delicious bbq brisket dinner at the Jack Stroup Civic Center. It’s only $13 per meal and you can dine in or carry out. To buy your tickets call 863-471-2522

The Aktion Club of Highlands County, Highlands Moose Lodge 2494, and American Legion Post 69 are joining forces to build 38 care packages for a U.S. Air Force squadron in Saudi Arabia. The public can help by donating hygiene items, non-perishable food items, reading material, games and more. The deadline for donations is August 15th, so the packages can be shipped out before September 11th. For more details call Cindy Marshall at 863-443-0438
