The Lake Placid Pineapples Fast-pitch girls softball team Golf Scramble tournament is this Saturday at Placid Lakes Country Club. Proceeds will help fund the teams birth into the World Series this summer. To register or sponsor contact Matt at
“Stamp Out Hunger” this Saturday by donating canned food and other non-perishable goods to your local post office, or by leaving them at your mailbox. Help do your part and “Stamp Out Hunger”.

Friday, May 14th the Daryl Patrick Jazz ensemble will make their final performance at Tanglewood Clubhouse at 7pm. Tickets are just $5. Free admission to disabled veterans.
Dr. Paul Horton and Sebring Noon Rotary are partnering to collect snacks, playing cards, and hygiene products to send as care packages to our troops overseas. May 27th the Veterans Council of Highlands County will hold a ceremony to mark Memorial Day. Head to the Military Sea Services Museum in Sebring, at 2pm, to see special guest, Retired Major General James E. Livingston of the USMC. It’s a free event for the public. Questions? The 6th Annual Health Safety and Hurricane Expo takes place Saturday, June 1st at the Hardee County Agri-Civic Center. This Free event runs from 10am – 1pm and is open to the public to teach you everything. From disaster readiness to insurance, even financial assistance. Callfor more info.
