A Sebring man faces four charges after a rollover crash early Wednesday morning at the entrance to Lakeshore Mall. Jonathan Christopher Payne, 37, was charged with DUI, refusal to submit to testing, refusal to sign citations, and DUI causing damage. According to police, Payne’s SUV rolled onto its side after attempting a left turn across the path of a Mustang GT on U.S. 27, shutting down three southbound lanes for over an hour. No one was transported from the scene. Responding officers reported a strong odor of alcohol and slurred speech, and determined Payne’s abilities were impaired. He was later booked into Highlands County Jail after medical clearance.

The funds are expected to help with supplies and potential needs for a new cat medical building. The donation came from proceeds raised during Sun ‘N Lake’s Turkey Trot 5K held last fall.
