News Update for 11/18/25

A Florida Fish and Wildlife K-9 helped investigators crack a shooting case tied to a local gas station. Officers say the K-9 located a gun hidden under a backyard shed, believed to be the weapon used during an exchange of gunfire between two people at a Speedway on Oak Street. One driver, 27-year-old Colton Howell, was later detained and admitted involvement. Howell now faces multiple firearm-related charges and remains booked in the Hardee County Jail. Police have not yet released the second driver’s name.

A 24/7 virtual medical hotline and daytime doctor consultations, including prescription support through Walgreens, will remain available. The new clinic will operate at the Heartland Professional Plaza on U.S. 27 in Sebring.
