Florida law enforcement is warning the public about a new AMBER Alert phone scam circulating statewide. Scammers are calling people while claiming to be “with AMBER Alert,” asking for personal information or attempting to schedule fake AMBER kit appointments. FDLE says legitimate AMBER Alerts are only issued after a child goes missing and are confirmed by law enforcement. If you receive one of these calls, do not share any information, hang up immediately, and report it to your local law enforcement agency.
