Early voting has closed off in Highlands County for the mid-term elections and a passle of ballots already have been cast. Highlands County Supervisor of elections Penny Ogg says nearly 11,000 people have voted by mail and more than 12,000 went to the polls for early voting. There was mayhem yesterday afternoon at the Sebring Falls Mobile Home Park when a gyrocopter crashed into an unoccupied mobile home there. Two people were killed, one was injured and three trailers were damaged in the incident. Residents are flocking to the polls during early voting. Reportedly, nearly a quarter of all registered voters in Highlands County already have cast their ballots either by mail or by visiting a polling location.
