A terrifying ordeal ended in escape after a victim managed to flee from an armed robbery and kidnapping in Lake Wales. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect, 36-year-old Brock Sherrill of Frostproof, allegedly attacked the victim with a blunt object, held them captive inside his vehicle, and threatened them with a wrench before stealing personal items. The victim escaped through a passenger window and was treated for injuries to the head, neck, arms, and legs. Deputies later located Sherrill and his Chevy Equinox, arresting him on charges of armed robbery, aggravated battery, and false imprisonment. Officials say Sherrill has a lengthy criminal record, including eight felonies and two prior prison sentences.
