Highlands County is not a hotbed for millennials, so it should come as no surprise the area ranked so low for home loans by that age group in a recent survey. The study, compiled by Construction Coverage showed that the Sebring/Avon Park metro area was the fourth lowest for millennials taking out home loans.
Millennials are regarded as individuals born between 1981 and 1996. The average here was just under 27-percent, well below the national average of 58-percent.
The average loan amount also was lower. The average here was $215,000 while nationally, the average was set at $335,000.
