A Stand Your Ground hearing for Sebring man Jeffrey Danley, accused in the 2022 beating death of his neighbor, has been postponed. Prosecutors requested the delay after a key witness became unavailable. Danley is charged with manslaughter, felony battery, and evidence tampering in the death of Richard McBain III. His motion claims he acted in self-defense after McBain allegedly threatened his girlfriend’s daughter during a ride home from dinner. The judge agreed the hearing will be rescheduled at a later date.

Investigators identified him and secured a warrant — but Santiesteban turned himself in, admitting to the crimes. He now faces multiple charges, including burglary, petit theft, and attempted burglary, with enhanced penalties for crossing county lines.

Investigators searched the teen’s home and found a 9mm pistol and ammunition in his bedroom. He now faces charges including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm on school property, and possession of a firearm by a minor.
