Florida State Troopers have released some information but not yet the names of those involved in an accident last night that claimed a pedestrian’s life just west of the Highlands-Hardee County line. FHP units were dispatched a little after 7pm to a site near the intersection of State Road 17 and Warfield Road, where a 25-year old woman was driving her car eastbound on 64 and hit a male pedestrian who was reportedly walking in the eastbound traffic lane. A second vehicle following the first one then hit the fellow a second time. The unidentified man was killed at the scene. No injuries reported for the drivers of the two vehicles. Highway traffic was blocked most of the might all the way up to Olivia Drive in Avon Park.
