That “Sebring Strong Survivors Fund” Gofundme page we’ve been telling you about is going strong – as of this morning, the tally was just shy of $71,000 for the families of the SunTrust shooting victims. Go Fund Me is pretty well established, and that drive is backed by the SunTrust Foundation, but there ARE people who just don’t feel comfortable with money flying around the internet. If you’re one of them, the Advent Health Foundation welcomes you to kick in to their drive – it was designed for the hospital’s employees, but you’re more than welcome to donate as well. The hospital seeded the fund with a $5,000 donation of its own. Your donations are welcome at the Foundation office at the hospital – it’s at the top of the stairs at the main entrance to Advent Health Care’s Sebring campus.

Avon Park has a special City Council meeting planned for this coming Monday, the Fourth, at 6pm. The agenda is primarily a continuation of discussions and disagreements in the last meeting – what to do with the Brickell Building, combining advisory boards for the city three redevelopment districts into one and separating them from the City Council, as well as the city’s purchasing policy and the airport.
