Following a two day search, Highlands County Sheriff’s officials say 16-year-old Larry Huffman has been found. The Avon Park youth apparently was located yesterday. Authorities have declined to say where he was, or what he may have been doing. They only indicate he was found and is safe.
Sheriff’s divers spent two days combing Lake Verona earlier this week, following reports he may have run into the water there and might have drown.
It appears electric scooters may soon be zipping around parts of Avon Park. City council members Monday night approved the second reading of an ordinance that regulates both rental and privately owned machines.
The ordinance will be a bit more strict that the agreement inked by the city of Sebring earlier this year, and will be more restrictive on where the scooters can be used.
There’s no word on when company officials plan to establish locations for the machines in and around the City of Charm.
