Highlands County commissioners will get together in regular session this morning. They’ll be getting an update from the county’s Economic Development Department.
They’ll brief commissioners on their efforts to bring grants, new jobs and business here. Reportedly, they currently are working on 15 projects.
Commissioners also will consider a controversial request to change an 18-acre parcel of land off Sparta Road from low to medium density. Residents showed up at the Planning & Zoning meeting to object to the idea, citing concerns about drainage, increased traffic and noise issues.
