Avon Park city council members will have quite a bit of business to take care of when they meet tonight for their first session of March. They first will add to their lexicon of names, by designating the City of Charm also as a Purple Heart City.
Additionally, the council will hear another proposal to manage the city’s airport. This will come from Scott Carkeet and Rob Bullock. A presentation from the Tourist Development Council is planned as well.
In other action, the council will look at approving contracts with both a consulting and a legal firm as they consider a proposed 30-year lease on the airport. The board also will hear about future building plans for the Church Service Center and decide what to do with the much-troubled Brickell Building.
