A 22-year-old Sebring man is facing multiple charges after police say he recorded women inside fitting rooms at a local Goodwill Monday afternoon. Investigators say an off-duty Highlands County detective spotted a cell phone over the changing stall wall and detained Jacob Tyler Adkins until Sebring Police arrived. Authorities say Adkins allegedly recorded multiple victims and was also wearing stolen merchandise at the time of his arrest. He now faces charges including attempted video voyeurism and petit theft, with additional charges possible as the investigation continues.

A domestic violence suspect is facing multiple charges after deputies say he tried escaping through a bathroom window in Lake Placid Saturday afternoon. Authorities responded to a call on Observation Street, where 23-year-old Nathan Johnson allegedly fled before K-9 units tracked him down. Deputies say Johnson attempted one final run on foot before being taken into custody by K-9 Gentry. He was transported to the hospital and is expected to face charges including aggravated assault, battery, false imprisonment, and resisting arrest.

Five teenagers were arrested Monday after deputies spotted them riding around downtown Lake Placid in a vehicle reported stolen the day before from a Placid Lakes Boulevard home. Authorities say the group abandoned the car and scattered on foot, but deputies and Lake Placid Police officers quickly tracked them down within a half-mile of where the vehicle was ditched. All five were taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center in Bartow.

A Frostproof man is back behind bars after deputies say he barricaded himself inside a storage shed following a domestic violence call Friday evening. Polk County deputies responded to a home on West F Street, where 44-year-old Christopher Alexander had reportedly fled before locking himself inside the shed. After repeated commands went unanswered, deputies sent in K-9 Wit — and authorities say Alexander immediately surrendered. He now faces charges including felony battery on a person over 65 and resisting arrest.
