Avon Park residents will see a bit of a property tax increase this year. Although city council members last night voted to leave the millage at 4.3681, due to an increase in property values this year, the action represents a 13.6-percent increase over the rollback rate. That’s the rate that would have produced the same amount of taxes as last year.
There were no speakers at the public hearings for the millage rate, or to establish the budget for the upcoming 2023-24 fiscal year in the City of Charm.

Highlands County residents will have an opportunity to speak with Florida State Senator Erin Grall this evening. Grall will appear a the Highlands Tea Party.
