Highway 27 west of Sebring was closed for a time overnight when a dump truck full of asphalt overturned. The southbound lanes of Highway 27 near the Residence Inn were closed for several hours while crews cleaned up the load of asphalt which went all over everywhere. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were busy across Highlands county yesterday with brush fires. All north Highlands County stations were called out to put down the flames in a field in Avon Park Estates yesterday evening. Hardee and Polk stations came in to assist as well.
