Thanksgiving begins the Holiday season and for a lot of people, that means their Christmas lights are going up. The Folks at Duke Energy have posted their annual Holiday Light Calculator to assist customers in det3ermining the cost of that celebration.
They say it is “easy and fun to use,” and included the latest bulbs. Numbers show that a 100-bulb string of the big incandescent bulbs will cost about 7-cents an hour to run. A 100-bulb string of standard incandencent will be about a nickel an hour.
LED 100 stings are about a penny an hour and the minis are less than that.
People who want to find out their own personal numbers can go to the Duke Energy website and go to their Holiday lighting calculator.
