Highlands County school officials say they now have set a date, time and place for a workshop on sex education in the local schools. To be billed as a discussion on the local "health education curriculum," it is expected that school representatives of the I Make a Difference – or iMAD – program as well as school board staff will address concerns raised by parents and citizens at a meeting earlier this month.
The workshop is set for Monday, April 11th in the Sebring Middle School gymnasium at 5:30 pm. It is open to parents and the public.
At the board’s meeting this week, supporters of the iMAD program turned out to defend against allegations leveled against it.
