Highlands County Sheriff’s deputies reportedly have arrested a couple of men wanted in connection with a stabbing in the Sun ‘N Lake community.
26-year-old James Gaston Hall and 28-year-old Ka Bao Yang were seen about 7:00 last night fleeing from the scene of a stabbing on Darnell Drive reportedly – they turned themselves in the deputies early this morning.
At last report, the two stabbing victims were being treated for their injuries – their names have not been released.
There’s no information as to what may have caused the altercation.

The Sebring Community Redevelopment Agency apparently is looking to the private sector for some help in the construction of a dog park in the City on the Circle. The Sebring CRA reportedly has applied to Petco, for a $25,000 grant for the project.
Apparently the company will be awarding such grants to eight different cities. There’s no indication on the total cost of such a project – but a location on Spruce Street has been identified as a possible location.

Any improvements or beautification projects set for the Mile Long Mall in Avon Park now have another hoop to jump through. Avon Park City Attorney Glenda Pruitt says several organizations have approached the council wanting to place enhancements there – but that actually is the property of the Florida Department of Transportation.
In short, that means that any changes not only need to be approved by the council, but also must meet state policies and procedures. Part of that makes the city responsible for any such improvements – something they cannot turn over to another agency.
