Highlands County voters turned out in record numbers this year. Provisional statistics released by Highlands County Supervisor of Elections Penny Ogg show 52,303 ballots were cast either in person or by mail for this year’s election. That’s 78.87 percent. The numbers continue to climb quickly as voters cast their ballots in this year’s general election.
